Hispanic construction leader donates $3 million to home repair charity

(EXAMPLE, Texas – Oct. 1, 2026) The CEO of Delgado Construction made a charitable donation of $3 million to Hope for Homes, a local charity that provides home repairs and improvements for low-income families in Texas. The gift, which was made a few weeks ago, is the largest individual gift ever received by the charity. Not only did Delgado donate this sum, but he also pledged his employees to complete 1,400 service hours for the charity, estimating about 20 hours per employee.

“I worked extremely hard to have the success that I have and want nothing more than to help other disadvantaged families to find the same success,” Delgado said.

Delgado is the child of Mexican immigrants; while they did the best they could, the homes were often in need of ill repair. For him, these experiences helped him begin construction so that he could eventually build his own construction firm. He spent his life committed to expanding opportunities to disadvantaged people by providing jobs and more than $500,000 in scholarships for Texas students to attend trade schools. Additionally, Delgado has worked with the Catholic Diocese of Dallas to provide food and other necessities to needy families.

Delgado is set to retire next month at 90-years-old. His successor will be his 45-year-old grandson, Javier Delgado. The transition of CEOs will allow for Delgado Construction to continue operations as the longest and oldest Hispanic-owned construction company across the country.

Good morning, Ms. Cheryl Hall.

Hispanic construction leader donates $3 million to home repair charity

Hello, my name is Alyssa Richey, and I have a story I think you may be interested in. My client, Delgado Construction, recently made the largest individual donation in Hope for Homes’ history. The donation was $3 million and included 1,400 service hours from Delgado employees. Hope for Homes is a charity that repairs homes for low-income households.

This is especially interesting for you because the CEO of Delgado Construction has been an entrepreneur since 1960. This would be interesting to your readers because this is a local success story with a native Texan. He has found remarkable success with his company, so much so that he will be retiring at 90 years old. Charles Delgado will be officially passing his CEO duties to his grandson, Javier Delgado.

Please let me know if you would like any additional information regarding this story. I can offer exclusive interviews with the CEO, and Javier. Thank you for your time.

Best,

Alyssa Richey
