Point-In-Time Campaign
We were tasked with creating a campaign based on the annual Point-In-Time count, which is a required census on the unhoused population in order to secure federal funding for the upcoming year. This census is extremely important in gaining the appropriate funds to be allotted for their care. This is strictly a volunteer-led event that will be held on Thursday, Jan. 22, 2026: 6 a.m. - 10 p.m.
Media Interview Statement : We are here for the annual Point in Time count, which is a required census on the unhoused population in order to secure federal funding for the upcoming year. This census is extremely important in gaining the appropriate funds to be allotted for their care. This is strictly a volunteer led event that will be held on Thursday, January 22, 2026: 6 a.m. - 10 p.m.
Talking Points:
PIT Importance: Without an accurate number or direct feedback from the unhoused population, it is impossible to ensure needs are available for our neighbors.
Volunteers Needed: This event is run by volunteers. There is an estimated need of 200 volunteers to cover Denton county. Volunteers can go out for the census, pack supply bags or donate supplies to the cause.
Required for federal Funding: The PIT count gathers data required for counties to receive federal funding for resources for the unhoused.
